The descendants of Tom and Cora Vines will hold their annual family reunion on Sunday, Sept. 25, 2022 at the Collettsville Ruritan Building in Collettsville. Harper’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Patterson is celebrating it 150th. Anniversary with a homecoming celebration this Sunday, Sept. 25. The guest preacher will be Philip Setzer, who started his minister at Harper’s Chapel and who recently retired. Worship begins at 11 a.m. There will be a covered dish dinner afterward at the Fellowship Hall (Located beside Shiloh UMC).

The Caldwell County Health Department is hosting a “Flu Drive-Thru Clinic” on Friday, Sept. 30 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the front parking lot of the Caldwell County Health Department, located at 2345 Morganton Blvd SW B in Lenoir.
The annual Happy Valley Optimist Club golf tournament will be held Friday, Sept. 30 at Lenoir Golf Club. Lunch will be provided by Hwy 55 beginning at 12 noon. Shotgun start at 1 p.m. The entry fee for a team of four is $240. Single spots may be available if interested in playing but don’t have a team. Kingdom Men will perform at a Men’s Conference at Highway to Hedges Ministries at the intersection of North Main Street with Creekway Drive; 1 p.m. Men’s Chorus of HTH Ministries and four guest speakers will be featured. Delicious food; no cost.

The annual Victory Classic Golf Tournament will be held at Lenoir Golf Club, with lunch at noon and 1 p.m. tee time. The entry fee is $220 for a team of 4. Proceeds benefit Robin’s Nest Children’s Advocacy Center, a 501©(3) corporation that coordinates services for child victims of sexual or severe physical abuse. The Book Launch for “The Physician and the Forester — Marjorie and Bill Strawn: A Story of Devotion, Service and Faith,” by Gretchen Griffith will be from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Red Awning Gallery in the HUB, 145 Cedar Valley Road, Hudson. Book signing will be by the author and artist Matthew Strawn. Light refreshments will be served.
