Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care partners with the Caldwell Senior Center to offer an Advance Care Planning Workshop, including discussion of living wills and health care power of attorney, via Zoom at no cost to the community on the second Thursday of each month. The next workshop will be held Jan. 14 at 1:30 p.m. Notary services are available by appointment to help anyone who wants to complete their documents. Happy Valley Ruritan will host its buffet-style Big Breakfast fundraiser Saturday, Jan. 16, 7-9:30 a.m. Food is served by masked and gloved servers, and the tables are separated for safe distancing. The menu includes variety of meats, eggs, gravy, grits, homemade buttermilk biscuits, apples, pancakes, coffee, tea, and juice. Children up to 5 eat free. The Caldwell County Agricultural Fair Board of Directors will have its annual meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 19, at 6 p.m. in the Andrews Building at the fairgrounds. The public is invited.
