A 30th county resident has died of COVID-19, according to a press release.
The person was over the age of 75, had been hospitalized and had other health problems.
Forty-seven cases of COVID-19 were reported on Monday, bringing the county’s total number of confirmed cases to 2003. Nine people are hospitalized for the virus. There are 805 active cases of the virus in the county, and 1,168 are considered recovered.
In Catawba County, 40 more people tested positive, bringing the county’s total number of confirmed cases to 3,631.
Sixty people have died, 21 are hospitalized, and 3,043 are considered recovered.
In Burke County, there have been 2,671 confirmed cases, and 2,231 are considered recovered. Forty-nine people have died, and nine are currently hospitalized.
Statewide there have been 232,747 confirmed cases of the virus, 3,773 people have died, and 1,109 are currently hospitalized.
