LENOIR — Children’s literature can be used not only to teach students how to read and write, but also to help increase their language, emotional, and cognitive skills. Literacy development is the foundation for doing well in school, socializing with others, problem-solving, making decisions, developing independence, managing money, and more.

On Saturday, Sept. 24, Tybrisa Books will host the first “Keep ‘em Reading” Children’s and Young Adult Literary Festival from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in front of the store.
