STATESVILLE — A Hudson man was arrested in Iredell County for drug trafficking on Thursday, Oct. 7.
Roger O’neil Thomas Jr., 27, of Baird Drive, was arrested after deputies with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Interstate Criminal Enforcement (ICE) Team observed a vehicle traveling on Interstate 40 westbound commit a traffic violation.
The deputies attempted to stop the vehicle by activating blue lights and siren, however, the vehicle continued traveling and refused to stop.
The deputies continued following the vehicle, which exited off the interstate and onto N.C. Highway 21, then turned on Glenway Drive before stopping in a parking lot, according to a press release issued by Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.
Once the vehicle stopped, deputies searched the vehicle and found 183.79 grams of cocaine, along with 9.8 grams of marijuana.
Thomas was charged with felony trafficking cocaine by possession, felony trafficking cocaine by transport, felony possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanor flee to elude arrest, misdemeanor failure to heed for lights and siren, and misdemeanor driving while license revoked.
His bond was set at $250,000 secured.
Thomas has two pending court cases in Caldwell County for driving while impaired and communication threats, according to documents obtained at the Caldwell County Courthouse.
