A woman from Lenoir has been missing since late February, the Lenoir Police Department said.

April Michelle Reid, 36, has not had contact with friends or family since Feb. 28, Lt. Mark Barlowe said.

Police have no evidence of foul play in her disappearance but are considering all possibilities, he said.

Reid’s family told police that they thought Reid was traveling, and they have heard she could be in Wilmington or somewhere in South Carolina, but the information police received was not specific enough to track her down.

At times Reid has been known to take trips, but she isn’t usually gone for more than a week or two, Barlowe said.

Because Reid has been known to travel, her family didn’t report her missing until March 20.

Detective Drew Greene said that police have been trying to find people who might have some idea where Reid might have gone, but they had no leads on Monday.

Their hope is that she is just on an extended vacation, Barlowe said, “but obviously we have to explore about any kind of possibility.”

Anyone with information about Reid’s location can contact the Lenoir Police Department at 828-757-2100 or Lenoir/Caldwell County Crime Stoppers at 828-758-8300.
