A Hudson man is accused of sexually abusing two girls in incidents that reportedly happened between eight and 12 years ago, the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office said.

Kevin Lee Ward, 45, of Woodlawn Drive is accused of sexually abusing the girls, repeatedly "over a long time frame," Capt. Aaron Barlowe said.

The abuse was reported Jan. 5 after one of the girls told a friend at school about it, Barlowe said.

Ward is charged with first-degree rape of a victim under 13 and two counts of indecent liberties with a child. His bond was set at $200,000 secured.

Ward has no previous felony convictions in North Carolina, according to the North Carolina Department of Public Safety’s inmate database.
