Orel “Lee” Dellinger Jr., 82, of Boxwood Street, Hudson, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2021, at his residence. He was born March 11, 1938, in Lincoln County to the late Orel Lee Dellinger Sr. and Lala Cherry Dellinger. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Jerry Dellinger.
Mr. Dellinger was a Navy Veteran. He worked as a State Trooper until 1973 and after he retired as a Security Officer for Valley Hills Mall. Lee was the best husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather there ever was; he will be missed by many.
Survivors include Gail Price Dellinger of the home; one daughter, Lori D. Setzer and husband Steve of Lincolnton; two sisters, Cherry D. Corley of Virginia and Ruth D. Lail of Charlotte; two grandchildren, Lacey Kincaid and husband Caleb, and Jenna E. McVay; three great-grandchildren, Layla Scott, and Eden and Wayland Kincaid; and two brothers-in-law, Bobby Price, and Randy H. Lackey and wife Fonda, all of Lenoir.
A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, Feb. 21, 2021, at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Hudson conducted by the Rev. Mack Jarvis.
Due to COVID-19, social distancing and masks will be required.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to one’s favorite charity of choice.
