Pennell elected to state board

Darrell Pennell, the chairman of the Caldwell County Board of Education, has been elected vice president of the board of directors for the North Carolina School Boards Association, a nonprofit, nonpartisan group that represents all 116 local boards of education in the state. The board of directors establishes the mission and goals for the association and ensures that NCSBA activities and programs remain focused on these goals. In addition, the officers and directors are the personal communications link between their regions and the association. Members of the board of directors serve a one-year term.
