New storefront offers glimpse into small-town life

From left, Warren Gruber, preparator of the Mitford Museum, and Jan Karon, author of the New York Times-bestselling “Mitford” series, show off the brand new “storefront” Wednesday in the Mitford Museum bookstore that Gruber built himself using recycled wood and pieces of the tin roof from a local barn in Hudson. This new porch fits well into the small-town themes of Karon’s beloved stories.
