Devoted husband and father Johnny Dexter Bolick of Granite Falls passed away Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2021. He was the son, born on Christmas Day, of the late Rachel and Dexter Bolick.
John was a member of First Baptist Church of Granite Falls. While no singular activity or hobby can be listed, he was adroit and versed in a variety of areas.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 43 years, Cathy Secreast Bolick of the home; one daughter, Elisabeth Spillman and husband Isaac of Winston-Salem; one grandson, Barrett Spillman of Winston-Salem; a sister, Judy Freeman and husband Melvin of Hudson; his mother-in-law, Maxine Secreast of Lenoir; a sister-in-law, Sandra Cheek and husband Darrell of Lenoir; and one nephew, Roger Taylor Jr. and wife Tammy, and their children, Morgan, Leah and Jack, all of Lenoir.
A graveside service will be held on Jan. 16, 2021, at 11 a.m. at Blue Ridge Memorial Park with the Rev. Sam Craven officiating.
Due to COVID-19, masks and social distancing will be required.
In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
