Marlene Simmons Sullivan, 84, of Circle Drive, Hudson, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2021, at Caldwell UNC Health Care. She was born June 2, 1936, in Caldwell County to the late Alfred T. and Leona Smith Simmons.
Mrs. Sullivan had worked as a secretary in the furniture industry and was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. She was a Godly woman, a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother and was a friend to all. She played the organ for both Hudson First Baptist Church and Fellowship Baptist Church from 1958-2015.
Survivors include her loving husband of 63 years, Marcus H. Sullivan of the home; one daughter, Marcella Sullivan of Sawmills; one brother, Ronnie Simmons and wife Ann of Hudson; two grandchildren, Melissa Greer and husband Jason of Hudson, and John Triplett of Hudson; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at Fellowship Baptist Church on Saturday, Feb. 13, 2021, at 11 a.m. conducted by the Rev. James Hamby. Inurnment will be private at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens of Lenoir.
Due to COVID-19, masks and social distancing will be required.
